John M. Williams ("Jack", "Moe"), 86 years of age of Laurel Terrace Lake Hauto, Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, a recent guest of Heritage Hill of Weatherly, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Weatherwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Weatherly.
Survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Patricia J. (Yurick) Williams; daughters, Susan (Williams) Schremp wife of Ted of Chesterfield, MO., Patricia Williams wife of Michael Harahus of Fogelsville, PA., Robyn (Williams) Rex wife of Charles of Tamaqua; sister, Mrs. Megan Reichelderfer of Lake Hauto; his five grandchildren who he cherished, Megan Schremp, Arjun Williams, Margaret Harahus, Brandon Rex and Adam Rex.
A 1948 Coaldale High School graduate, Jack served honorably as a Seabee in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Returning home he worked for Lehigh Coal & Navigation for more than forty years both as a surveyor at #11, and as salesman in their Pottsville office.
A devoted member of the First Congregational Church of Coaldale, Jack sang in the choir, served as a Deacon and was on the Board of Trustees. Jack, volunteered at Hometown Nursing Home for many years, and enjoyed cooking and celebrating his Welsh Heritage.
Born Thursday, October 11, 1928 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Edward, and Mari (Harris) Williams.
Jack was preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Paquette, and Mrs. Mary Fredericks; brother Edward William.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services of 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock A.M., on Tuesday July 21, 2015 from the First Congregational Church of Coaldale located at 150 East Ruddle Street Coaldale, Pennsylvania 18218. Rev., Dr. Wayne Benack to officiate.
Friends may call in church Monday evening July 20, 2015 from 6 to 8:00 P.M., and on the morning of services from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. Interment with Military Honors will be in Odd Fellows, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
