The family of John Albert Isganitis announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather on Saturday, January 27, 2024. A resident of Hometown, he was 94 years old and passed peacefully after a visit from his family.
Born October 6, 1929 in Girard Manor, Pennsylvania, the son of the Alexander and Veronica (Sopagee) Isganitis he is predeceased by his sister Magdeline Reed and brothers Alexander, Joseph, Edward, Peter, William and Victor.
His first wife Ruth Hillibush succumbed to cancer and passed in 1979 after 30 years of marriage.
His loving family includes his faithful wife of 41 years Jane (George) Isganitis, sons Mark Isganitis, husband of the late Margaret Furrer , David Isganitis and wife Margaret, stepson David Ansbach and his wife Shelly, sister Dolores Kaufman, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
A 1948 graduate of Tamaqua High School, John served honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in Iceland during the Korean War. He enjoyed a variety of jobs in his life, including sales of snack foods from a truck in various communities of Pennsylvania, machine operator and foreman at Lachman Printing in Lansdale and finally a machine operator at Merck, Sharpe and Dohme in West Point, Pa. He retired at the age of 73 and enjoyed his family until his passing. His patience and understanding was unsurpassed, and his sons have attempted to emulate his kindness and gentlemanly behavior that he taught them.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday afternoon February 2, 2024 at 3 o'clock P.M. from the funeral home. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until time of services.
