John E. Hess

Mr. John E. Hess, age 80, of Second Street Weatherly, Pa., died Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Weatherwood Carbon County Nursing & Rehab. in Weathery, Pa.

John retired as a mechanic from Tung-Sol in Weatherly in 1992 after working 45 years. He was a past president of the Citizens Fire Company of Weatherly, and was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Weatherly.

Born in Weatherly, he was the son of the late A, John and Florence (Bevans) Hess.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary (Miller) Hess;

One Daughter,
Karen (Hess) Learn wife of William of Clifton Park, N.Y.;

Two Sons,
Jay E. Hess and his wife Debra of Tampa, Fla.
Walter C. Hess and his wife JoAnn of Weatherly;

One Sister,
Ruth Sauers of Doylestown;

Seven grandchildren
One great-grandchild;

Preceded in death by his brother, Earl Hess.

Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffreis F.D./Sup., where the family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 24, 2009.

Memorial service will be at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home at 11 o'clock AM Tuesday, November 24, 2009, Rev. Walter Breiner officiaitng.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery
