John H. Brown

John H. Brown , 95 years of age, of Masonic Villages Elizabethtown, PA, formerly of Clamtown, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at home.

Widower of Ruth V. (Deem) Brown, who died on October 7, 2010.

A member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tamaqua. He worked for the former Draper & Yost Plumbing of Hometown for twenty-six years, retiring in 1985.

John served in the Army 29 th Infantry during WWII having taken part on the invasion of Normandy. He was a member of the V.F.W. of Andreas, and Tamaqua American Legion. John was a Tamaqua Mason and member of Lehigh Consistory.

John enjoyed music all his life, as a young man he played trumpet in the Ben Salem and Mantzville Bands, as an adult he sang with the Coal Cracker Chorus in Barnesville for 42 years.

John served as Election Constable in West Penn Twp., and was a member of Retired Service Volunteer Program. He had also been a volunteer at Miner's Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.

Born in Andreas, on November 6, 1918, the son of the late John F., and Ida Mae (Hennninger) Brown.

John is survived by;

Brother:
Chester Brown and his wife Louise, Elizabethtown , PA

Many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Thomas.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, PA .

Funeral Services will be held Friday November 7, 2014 from the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 2066 West Penn Pike, Rte. #309 New Ringgold, Pennsylvania 17960, at 10:30 A.M.

Friends shall be received from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.

Interment with Military Honors will be at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, Pennsylvania.
