JoAnn Walton, 78, of Tamaqua, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday July 26, 2018, at St. Luke's University Hospital, Bethlehem. All are at peace, as Joann had spent the previous weekend at her grandson's wedding reveling in the joyous occasion, soaking in the warmth of family, and meeting her newest great grandson. Surviving are; daughters, Cindy J. (Walton) Viel and Amy L. (Walton) Mateyak, both of Tamaqua; son, Bradley F. Walton of Vancouver, WA.; brother, Vincent Caputo of Richmond, VA; 8 grand children; 7 great grand children. Born September 2, 1939 the daughter of the late Louis and Lottie (Derr) Burcin-Caputo. JoAnn was also predeceased by; son, Jefferson L. Walton; sisters, Louise Arieta, Margaret Watts, Anetta Kohler, Carla Nichols; brother, Michael Burcin. JoAnn was a Tamaqua High School graduate and member of the school's Drum & Bugle Corp. She was an active member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua and enjoyed decorating the church for the holidays, as long as each pine cone was placed to her specifications! Joann loved to bake and decorate cakes, but her greatest joy was her family. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the E.
