Joan L. Hinkle

Mrs. Joan L. (Gerhard) Hinkle, age 66, of Wetzel Run Drive Weatherly, Pa., died Friday, November 26, 2010, unexpectedly at home.

A 1961 Weatherly High School graduate, Joan was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Weatherly.

Serving as Tax Collector of Packer Township for over 30 years, she recently retired from the Weatherly School District, as high school secretary.

Joan loved her dogs, the outdoors, and bird watching.

Born in Hudsondale, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Jane Gerhard, who died Nov. 17, 2009.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Morris G. Hinkle;

Heather (Cannon) Pugliese wife of Dr. David Pugliese of Mountain Top,
Renee (Hinkle) Halozan wife of Scott of Middletown, Ohio,
Melissa (Hinkle) Shellock wife of Terry of Weatherly,
Josette (Hinkle) Rebarchak wife of James of Weatherly;

One Son,
Craig E. Cannon, and his wife Megan of Weatherly;

One Sister,
Ellen (Gerhard) Blaine wife of Barry of Long Valley, NJ.;

One Brother,
Carl Gerhard, and his wife Cynthia of Ringtown;

Ten grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./Sup., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, November 29, 2010.

Funeral Services, and Interment will be private.
