Joan W. Boner, mother and grandmother, 81 years of age formerly of Tamaqua, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Orwigsburg Center in Orwigsburg.
Widow of William J. Boner, who died on February 28, 2004.
A member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua, Joanie was a 1951 St. Jerome High School graduate. She was active in the C.W.E.A, and owned Joanie’s Ceramics, Tamaqua. She and her husband had owned The Last Chance Saloon in Tamaqua.
Born in Shenandoah on April 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Nellie (Lynn) Love.
Survived by her;
Daughter, Audrey J. wife of the late Thomas Milot of Brockton;
Sons,
William K. Boner of Brockton,
James P. Boner and his companion Linda Knepper of Coaldale,
Brian T. Boner and his wife Maria of Nesquehoning,
Keith P. Boner and his wife Lisa of Tamaqua;
Seven grandchildren, Heather, Lori, Adrienne, Brooke, Jared, and Samantha, Matthew;
Eight great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her son, Kevin P. Boner in 1959; sister, Mrs. Lois Mace.
The E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania has been entrusted with her care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 10 o’clock A.M. from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. 307 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
A gathering of friends will be held Monday evening August 4, 2014 from the funeral home 6 to 8:00 P.M.
Friends may call on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 8:45 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.
Interment at St. Jerome R.C.C Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
