Joan D. Bair

Mrs. Joan D.(Davies) Bair, age 86, of Barnesville, Pa., died Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Schuylkill Center in Pottsville.

Joan earned her Registered Nursing Certification from the Reading School of Nursing.
Having raised her children, she then worked for the Tamaqua Visiting Nurse Assoc. and did Private Duty nursing.

Active in the American Red Cross Blood Mobiles, she also was a member of the Tamaqua Lionettes, D.V.R.A., and the Bethany United Methodist Church of Barnesville.

Joan loved to read and enjoyed sitting on the Greenwood beach. She and her late husband, Bob, traveled upon retirement, driving cross country as far as Alaska.

Joan and her late husband, Robert "Bob" Bair, co-owned Bair- Purnell Chrysler-Plymouth of Barnesville.

Born in Summit Hill, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Elizabeth (Rose) Davies.

She is survived by her

Two Sons,
Douglas Bair and his wife Kathleen with whom she resided and
David Bair and his wife Shelly of Land of Lakes, FL;

Five grandchildren, Kelly and her husband John Tobin, Christopher Bair and his wife Tammy, Jennifer and her husband Michael Grigalonis, Jeffrey, and Jamie Bair;

Four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Maddie, Caleb, and Hannah Jo.;

Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by her sister, Betty (Davies) Griffiths; brother David Davies.

E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. is in charge of arrangements.

Friends will be received Sat. December 31, 2011 from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at 11 o'clock A.M. at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home 655 East Broad St. Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
