Mrs. Jean L. (Smith) Weigand, age 94, of Weatherly, Pa., died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Heritage Hills Senior Community Living Ctr. in Weatherly, Pa.
Jean, was a 1933 Weatherly High School graduate, and member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Weatherly. She had worked in the billling dept. of the former Warner & Waas Dept. Store of Weatherly.
Born in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late William and Rhoda (Jones) Smith.
She is survived by her
Two Daughters,
Mrs. Carol (Weigand) Reisenweaver of Hazleton, Pa.
Mrs. Charlotte (Weigand) Gerhard wife of Larry of Weatherly, Pa.;
One Sister,
Mrs. Mary (Smith) Moorhead of Bellemeade, N.J. ;
Three grandchildren, Debra Schweitzer and her husband Stephen, Rachael, and Kelly Kapas;
Four great-grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Jamie, and Jeffrey;
Preceded in death by her husband in 1994, Allan M. Weigand; brothers, Edwin, and Nelson Smith; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Schnauffer, Mrs. Anna Belle Knorr; grandson, Mark Reisenweaver, in 2006; son-in-law, Thomas Reisenweaver.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./ Sup., where the family will receive friends from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 24, 2010.
Funeral service will be at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 24, 2010, Rev. Dawn Richie officiating.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Weatherly.
