Jean A. (nee: VanHorn) Seigendall, 85, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Sunday December 7, 2008 in Racine. She was born in Weatherly, Pa. on Decmeber 20, 1922, the daughter of George and Mary (nee: Uptegrove) VanHorn. Jean was employed with Bell Telephone Company for several years prior to her marriage to Robert F. Seigendall on June 30, 1951 in Hazelton, Pa. She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and three daughters which she found great enjoyment in keeping a very well decorated home and enjoyed socializing with most everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jean is survived by her loving daughters, Judith (Emil) Suciu of Texas, Cheryl Morris of Chicago, and Linda (Ken) Sliwa of Racine; five grandchildren, Eric, Dana, Danielle, Tessa and David, and four great grandchildren, Meghan, Deja, Ryan and Dylan. She is further survived by one sister, Doris Smith of Hazelton, Pa.; dear and loving friend, Paul Clymer of Racine; three sisters-in-law, Marian VanHorn, Ida Magill, Betty Henry and the Smith and Seigendall families from Weatherly and Hazelton, Pa., along with nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends in Racine and Pennsylvania. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on July 18, 2006, and three brothers, George VanHorn, and Ray and Bill Magill.
There will be a visitation at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home 211 First Street Weatherly, Pa. on Friday December 12, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with service on Saturday December 13, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Walter Breiner officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Weatherly, Pa.
