Jean (Mars) Carter, age 94, of Lake Harmony, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Orwigsburg Center in Orwigsburg.
Preceded in death by her husband Harry E. Carter on June 6, 2007.
A Summit Hill High School graduate, Jean had worked as a waitress for Split Rock Lodge in Lake Harmony.
Born in Summit Hill, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Lucy "Judy" (Klein) Mars-Kutz.
She is survived by her:
Nephew and care givers, John and Sherry Carter of Tamaqua;
Sister, Mrs. Hazlebeth (Kutz) Barnhart of Bethlehem;
Great nephews, Joshua Carter and his wife Mary, and Jimmy Carter;
Cousins.
Preceded in death by her step-father, George Kutz.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11 o'clock AM Wednesday, May 29, 2013, Rev. Marjorie Keiter to officiate.
Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery Tamaqua, Pa.
