Janet T. Gerhard

Janet T. (Shigo) Gerhard of Grist Mill Drive, Weatherly passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA, due to a sudden illness during her courageous battle against Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the age of 63.Survived by her beloved family; daughters, Melissa A. Kessell, wife of Timothy of Madison, CT., Nadine A. Gerhard of Catasauqua; son, Cory G. Gerhard and his wife Shari of Weatherly; brother, John Shigo Sr. and his wife Terrie of McAdoo; grandchildren, Nate, Shane, Payson, Harlow, McKenna, Corbin, and Vance; and many nieces and nephews.Born in Hazleton, Janet was the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Derendal) Shigo of McAdoo. Janet was also predeceased by her brother Richard.A 1972 graduate of Hazleton High School, Janet was a dedicated and valued colleague and friend at Fine Line Homes of Hazleton, where she contributed her compassion and knowledge in her career of over thirty years. A member of St. Matthews Church of Weatherly, Janet was passionate about her family and loved spending time with her children and seven grandchildren.
