James J. Stevens, Ii

James J. Stevens II, age 85, of Hazle Street, Tamaqua, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown.

A WWII Navy Veteran, James served on the USS, Nevada having fought on D-Day. He was awarded the European Theatre Medal, and Victory Medal.

James, retired from High Associates of Lancaster, having served as maintenance supervisor for the Woodstream Apartments of Warminster.

Devoted to his family, he was a member of the Red Hill V.F.W., and Palm Pennsylvania Legion Post #0945.

Born in Frackville, he was the son of the late James and Hannah (Hinkle) Stevens.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy E. (Kramer) Stevens. together for 40 years;

Brother, Joe Stevens, and his wife Catherine of Phila.;

Three great-great grandchildren;

Preceded in death by his son, James J. Stevens, III, grandsons, Ryan Erney, and Wayne Erney; sisters, Mrs. Riba McNellis, Mrs. Florence Long, Mrs. Hannah Charlie, Mrs. Ruth Bartholomew, Mrs. Margaret Willing.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.,

Funeral service will be at Rosedale Memorial Park 3850 Richlieu Road BenSalem, Pa. 18020 at 11 o'clock AM Saturday, March 17, 2012.

Firends may call at Rosedale Memorial Park from 10 to time of services.

Military honors, and Interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park of Ben Salem.
