James C. Kachelries, Sr.

James C. Kachelries, Sr., 72 years of age of Penn Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Rest Haven Center in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania surrounded by his family.
Survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Hazel (Hartranft) Kachelries; sons, James C. Kachelries, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Tamaqua, John W. Kachelries and his wife Annie of Tamaqua; daughters, Hazel D. (Kachelries) McCaffery wife of Dennis of Jim Thorpe, Jeanette (Kachelries) Major and her boy friend Trevor Miller of Tamaqua; brothers, Donald Kachelries of Schuylkill Haven , Lorain Kachelries and his companion Kim Wise of Schuylkill Haven, Brian Kachelries and his companion Marsha Moyer of Pottsville; sisters, Mrs. Carol Lasco wife of Philip of Pottsville, Mrs. Beverly Freeman wife of Joseph of Schuylkill Haven,, Mrs. Janice Strohl wife of Bert of Cementon, PA, Mrs. Esther Rockwell of Girardville, PA; sister-in-law, Susan Kachelries of Tamaqua;
11 grand children; 17 great grand children, and many nieces and nephews also survive James.
A member of the First United Methodist Church of Tamaqua, James had worked construction as a driller for many years. He was an outdoorsman who liked to hunt and fish. James belonged to the South Ward Fire Company and West Penn Rod & Gun Club.
Born Saturday, November 7, 1942., he is the son of the late Mahlon and Esther (Kunkel) Kachelries.
James was preceded in death by his brother, Mahlon F. Kachelries on July 11, 2011.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
A Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock A.M. on Friday July 24, 2015 from the funeral home, Pastor Susan Daniels officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 655 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
