Jackie J. Shiverdaker
Jackie J. Shiverdaker, 78 of Whitehall passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg.
Born in Waco, TX, December 19, 1944 he was a son of the late Ivan J. and Oleta (Polk) Shiverdaker.
A 1962 graduate of Palo Duro High School, Texas, Jackie enlisted and served honorably in the United State Navy for 22 years. He served 3 tours in Vietnam and retired as a Senior Chief Operation Specialist. He earned his bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University while serving.
He was a past commander of the New Jersey VFW, a lifetime member of the American Legion and served on the board at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Vineland.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Jay Dee Shiverdaker.
Surviving are his wife Becky (Cockrell) Shiverdaker, daughter Rebecca Wagner and her husband Scott, Schnecksville, grandson Jack B. Wagner and granddaughter Clare E. Wagner.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday July 26, 2023 from the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 E Broad St. Tamaqua, PA 18252. Friends may call from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Burial with Military Honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at the convenience of the family.
