Mrs. Irene (Deesing) Inama, age 85, of Valley St., Brockton died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the home of her son in Pine Grove, Wash. Twsp., Pa.
Irene was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a member of Holy Cross R.C. Church in New Philadelphia.
She was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School and a member of the American Legion of Mahanoy City, Brockton Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, the Tamaqua Seniors and enjoyed bingo and the casinos.
Irene was previously employed by Brockton and Tuscarora Sportswear.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Krakuski) Deesing.
She is survived by her
sons, Paul F. and his wife Gerri of Pine Grove and Joseph A. and his wife Deborah Lynn of Eagle River, Alaska
daughter, Patti (Inama) Roda and her husband Scott of Landisville, Pa.
brothers, Paul and his wife Sherry of Salt Lake City, Utah; Joseph of Hamburg; John of Mahanoy City; and Frank and his wife Carol of Delano
sisters, Margaret Hentosh of Delano; Joan Brown of Weatherly; and Lorraine Lupcho wife of Joe of Quakake
six grandchildren, Kimberly, Joseph, Cory, Eric, Aaron and Andrew
and six great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Inama in 1984; daughter, Jo-Ann (Inama) D' Amato; and sister, Mary Woods.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. 655 E. Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross R.C. Church in New Philadelphia, Reverend Joseph J. Kweder officiating.
Interment will be in St. Bartholomew R.C. Cemetery, Brockton, Pa.
