Irene Miller (Serfass) Gerhart, age 89, of 2nd Street, Weatherly, PA, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Weatherwood Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emory W. Gerhart in 2006.
Irene retired from Wagner Electric where she had worked the assembly line.
She was a member of the Weatherly Senior Citizens.
Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Nathan Serfass and the late Sarah (Miller) Serfass.
She is survived by her
One Daughter:
Sandra Duffy and her companion Dennis Reed of Jim Thorpe;
Three Sons:
Frederick "Butch" Gerhart and his wife Mary Grace of Freeland;
Donald Gerhart of Phoenix, AZ;
Glen Troutman and his wife Joan of Lehighton;
One Sister:
Dolores Greenzweig of Palmerton;
Thirteen Grandchildren,
Sarah Steigerwalt, Frederick Gerhart, Jr., Tracey Hopeck, Margaret Gerhart, Donald Gerhart, Kimberly Gerhart, Robert Gerhart, Daniel Gerhart, Michael Gerhart, William Gerhart, Michael Troutman, John Troutman, and Chuck Troutman;
Sixteen Great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy and Kermit; sisters, Dorothy, Winifred, Esther, Margie, Larue (Toots), Elsie, and Eleanor.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 211 First Street , Weatherly, PA where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Monday, August 11, 2014.
Funeral service will be at Philip J Jeffries Funeral Home at 11:30 AM, Monday, August 11, 2014, Reverend Donald J. Stump to officiate.
Private Interment will be at Mount Laurel Cemetery,
