Ida G. Schaeffer, 89 years of age of Mush Dahl Road, New Ringgold, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016, at Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem.
Widow of Paul F. Schaeffer who passed away on October 14, 1991 she is survived by her son, Steven P. Schaeffer and his fiancée, Ann Kilbourn with whom she resided; granddaughter, Summer Schaeffer; great grand son, Damien Schaeffer. Nieces, and nephews also survive her.
A member of Zion Stone Church of West Penn Twp., Ida had worked in the cafeteria of the West Penn Elementary School before retiring from the Keystone Lamp Factory of Slatington.
Ida, was an accomplished wedding cake baker, and talented seamstress. She enjoyed working in her garden and camping.
Born Wednesday, April 13, 1927, the daughter of the late Edward J., and Ida M. (Hosler) Hayes. She was also predeceased by sisters, Mrs. Ellen Merkel, Mrs. Dorothy Merkel, and Mrs. Arlene Merkel; brothers, Edward, Robert, and William Hayes.
She was a member of Zion Stone Church of West Penn.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock AM on Thursday October 13, 2016 from the funeral home. Friends shall be received on Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until time of services. Rev. Kenneth T. Melber, Jr. to officiate.
Interment will be in Odd Fellows, Tamaqua, PA.
