Mrs. Ida "Babe" (Powers) Edmonds, age 99, of Tamaqua, Pa., died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Miners Memorial Medical Center in Coaldale.
She was the widow of Charles W. Edmonds who passed away in 1987.
Ida had been employed by the former Eames Bakery and she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Primitive Methodist Church, Tamaqua and a member of the New England Fire Co. Auxiliary.
Born in Reynolds, she was the daughter of the late Charles Powers and the late Ann (Reifelderfer) Powers.
She is survived by her
Two Sons,
Charles T Edmonds and his wife Betty of Tamaqua and Donald Edmonds and his wife Jane of Coopersburg;
One Sister,
Jean Swartz of Tamaqua;
Six grandchildren
Twelve great-grandchildren
Ten great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Powers; sisters, Edith Powers, Ethel Boriacius and Verna Edmonds.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 10-11 AM.
Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11 o'clock AM at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Reverend Rodney Hall to officiate.
Interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua.
