Herman W. Dietrich

Herman W. Dietrich, 81, of Weatherly, Pa. passed away at home,Tuesday, July 30, 2013, surrounded by family.

Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Herman L. and Melva (Kunkel) Dietrich.

Herman was a member of St. Matthew's Union Church.

A 1949 Weatherly High School graduate, Herman served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He spent much of his life working on the family farm.

Herman retired as a foreman from the Weatherly Foundry in 1993.

He was a lifelong member of Paradise Fishing Club, owner of Dietrich’s Grove and had served as a Packer Twp. Supervisor.

Herman loved the outdoors, enjoyed camping and feeding wildlife. He had a huge heart for his children and grandchildren, and spent much of his retired years as their taxi driver to school functions, sports and social events. Herman loved Nascar, the Phillies and always had a great passion for music.

Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Myrl E. (Titus) Dietrich. They met at choir practice when they were teenagers, and spent many wonderful years traveling and
raising a family together.

He is also survived by his: children, Diane C. (Dietrich) Fisher of Weatherly, Daniel C.
Dietrich and his wife Wendy of Weatherly; Nancy Dietrich of Weatherly, Leah (Dietrich)McVeigh and her husband Jeffrey of Newtown Square, Pa.

Ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Bruce, Andrea, Leslie, Carl, Laura, Kelly, Jeffrey Jr., Mark,
and Ryan; Three great-grandchildren, Kendra, Derek, and Josie.

Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 211 First Street Weatherly, Pa.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2013 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2013.

Funeral service will be at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home at 10 o'clock AM Saturday, August 3, 2013, Rev. Nancy Hardy to officiate.

Interment with Military honors, will be at St. Matthew's Cemetery of Packer Twp.

Memorials in his name to St. Matthew's Church, 3153 Quakake Road Weatherly, Pa. 18255.
