Mr. Herbert J. Kelshaw, age 83, of North Street Weatherly, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at home in Weatherly.

A Weatherly High School graduate, Herbert was an East Stroudsburg Teachers College graduate, and obtained his Masters in Education from Bucknell University, and Superintendents' certification.

Herbert, taught Science, and Physical Education in the Weatherly High School from 1956 to 1965, taking the reign as Superintendent from 1965 to 1987. Herbert was a Weatherly Hall of Fame inductee.

He was a member of Salem U.C.C. of Weatherly, and a member of Masonic Lodge 327 F&A.M., Hazle Azalea Fellowship of Hazleton. He was a 32 Degree Mason.

Herbert, served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Born in Weatherly, he was the son of the late Charles and Thelma (Setzer) Kelshaw.

He is survived by his

Two Sons,
Dr. Charles Kelshaw of Stoneville, N.C.,
Gary Kelshaw and his wife Mary of Jim Thorpe;

One Sister,
Joan (Kelshaw) Palermo wife of Charles of Weatherly;

Four grandchildren, Laura, Christian, Ashleigh, and Matthew;

Preceded in death by his wife Sarah Maude (Faust) Kelshaw; brother Ronald Kelshaw.

Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D., Sup.

Friends may call Wednesday evening May 11, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. from the funeral home.

Private interment.
