Helen M. Murphy DeWire, age 83, of 222 East Broad Street Tamaqua, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale.
Widow of Donald Dewire who died in 1996.
Helen was a member of St. Jerome R.C.C. of Tamaqua. She retired from the former Atlas Powder Co.
Helen was an avid reader, cook, enjoyed crocheting, and baking with her great granddaughter.
Born in Tamaqua, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Alice (Fisher) Davies. Helen was raised by the late Thomas and Harriet Murphy.
She is survived by her

Sandra D. (Dewire) Lileck wife of J. Ted of Tamaqua;
One Son,
Donald Dewire and his wife Margaret of Arapahoe, North Carolina;
Four grandchildren, Jennifer Neff, Maggie Freedman, and Kevin and Brian DeWire
Four great-grandchildren, Tanis and Sierra DeWire, Amelia and Joshua Freedman;
Sister, Catherine "Kitty Sanders and her husband Adam of Baltimore, Md, she was also survived by several half brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Decmber 7, 2012 at 10 o'clock A.M. from St. Jerome R.C.C. of Tamaqua.
Friends may call Thurs. evening December 6, 2012 from the funeral home, 6 to 8:00 P.M., and on Friday morning from 8:45 to 9:30 A.M.
