Mr. Harold A. Yeager, age 84, of Lansford, formerly of Coaldale, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Weatherwood Nursing Home in Weatherly.
He was a WWII U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a member of the United Methodist Church of Coaldale.
Harold had worked for Garden State Tannery of Reading, Pa. where he finished leather.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Ira and Bessie (Phyle) Yeager.
He is survived by his
two daughters, Priscilla (Yeager) Mackovic wife of Peter of Coaldale; and Karen B. (Yeager) Penberth wife of Dwight of Lansford
three grandchildren, Don Pfeifer, Jr., Dwight Penberth, Jr. and Karen Evans
two great-grandchildren, Megan Pfeifer and Abigail Evans.
Preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 20, 2009, Catherine (Jones) Yeager; brother, Daniel Yeager; sisters, Gladys Houseknect and Anna Drasher.
Arrangements are being handled by Holmes-Griffiths Funeral Home., Inc. 200 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, Pa.
Memorial Service will be at the United Methodist Church of Coaldale, corner of 2nd and High Streets Coaldale, Pa. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Burgess L. Gordon officiating.
Interment with military honors will be at Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pa.
