Harold G. Wagner, Sr., husband, father, grandfather,and great-grandfather, age 83,of Schuylkill Ave. Tamaqua, died Friday, January 3, 2014, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Hometown.
Survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret C. (George) Wagner.
Harold was a 1948 Tamaqua High School graduate. He served in the Army National Guard.
A devoted member of the Primitive Methodist Church of Tamaqua, having served as choir director for many years. Harold fostered his love of music as a member of the Coal Crackers Barber Shoppers of Mahanoy City.
An avid outdoorsman, Harold enjoyed working around the house as a handyman, and was mechanically inclined. He was an active member of the Primitive Methodist Church in Tamaqua. Earlier in life he was a minister (officer) in The Salvation Army.
Harold worked as a draftsman at Kovatch Mobile Equipment of Nesquehoning, Pa., until retirement.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Krapf) Wagner.

Seventeen grandchildren
Three great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Mary Heffelfinger, Mrs. Verna Shovelin, Mrs. June Cunningham, and Mrs. Sadie Whetstone; brothers, Jake, Harry, Ed, Raleigh, and Alvin Wagner.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.
Friends shall be received from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua, at 10 o'clock A.M. preceding the Memorial Service.
Memorial Service will be at First Primitive Methodist 55 Hunter Street Tamaqua, Pa., at 11 o'clock AM Tuesday, January 7, 2014, Rev. Rodney Hall to officiate.
