Mr. Harold C. Sipler, Sr., age 68, of Weatherly, Pa., went into the Lord's arms Friday, May 8, 2009, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, N.Y.
Harold, a loving father, husband, brother and pappy, devoted his life to others. He was a man with a generous heart who was a caregiver to many in need. Harold enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He was an avid fisherman who loved camping in Canada, where he kept membership in the Royal Legion of Arnprior, Ontario.
He retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike where he was a Toll Collector at the White Haven interchange.
Harold was a member of Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church of Weatherly, Pa.
Surviving are his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Barbara (Ratajczak) Sipler; a daughter, Charlaine L. (Sipler) Powell wife of Thomas Powell, Weatherly; sons, Harold C. Sipler, Jr. and companion Marci Neyhart, Weatherly, and Paul J. Sipler and his wife Sarah, Blakeslee, Pa; a sister, Mrs. Florence (Sipler) Sullivan, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and six grandchildren; Matthew, Arielle, Tyler, Olivia, Emma Grace, and Curtis James.
Born in White Haven, Harold was preceded in death by his parents; Carl and Bina (Erhet) Sipler, and his brother Ernest Sipler.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2009 and from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2009.
Funeral service will be at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2009, Rev. Robert VonFrisch officiating.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Weatherly
