H. Elizabeth Springer

Mrs. H. Elizabeth "Betty" Springer, age 99, of Tamaqua, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale PA. Born in Tamaqua 1912, she was the widow of William "Bill" Springer, married 71 years and the daughter of the late Ralph and Florence (Walker) Jones.
Betty was a 1930 graduate class of Tamaqua High School and also attended McCann School of Business.
She was a 79 year member of The First Presbyterian church where she served as an elder, deacon and secretary and is a current member of Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church. Betty was a homemaker all her life and also worked at the former Moser News Agency, Tamaqua for 36 Years.
She is survived by her Daughter Alice Roberts and her husband Donald of Fayetteville.
Two Sons,Charles D. Springer and his wife Nancy of Tamaqua; Dr. Daniel W. Springer of Ephrata
Seven grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends on Monday, September 24, 2012 from 9:00-11:00 AM. Funeral Services will be 11:00 at the funeral home with Rev. Barbara Lucia officiating. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pa. Mass Cards and Memorials in her honor to The Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA
