Grover R Gerhard, age 71, of Pine Tree lane, Weatherly, PA, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at Mountain City Nursing Home, Hazleton.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia (Cronk) Gerhard.
Grover had worked in the Dietary Dept at Weatherwood Nursing Home as a cook.
He was an Airforce Veteran having served in Vietnam.
He served as Packer Township Supervisor, on the Weatherly Ambulance Board and he was a member of American Legion Post 360 of Weatherly.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Born in Hazleton on April 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Raymond Gerhard and the late Verna E. (Heiney) Gerhard.
He is also survived by his
One Son,
John Gerhard and his wife Dana of Bethlehem;
Two Sisters,
Nancy C (Gerhard) Hinkle wife of Dennis of Weatherly;
Mildred (Gerhard) Selert wife of Arnold of Weatherly;
One Grandchild,
Mia Gerhard.
Preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Gerhard and infant brother Jerome Gerhard; sister, Ellen Gerhard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 211 First Street , Weatherly, PA., where the family will receive friends on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10-11 AM.
Funeral Service will be at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11 o'clock AM.
Interment with Military Honors will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 2 o'clock PM.
Memorials in his honor may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans 305 E Diamond Ave, American Legion, Hazleton, PA 18201.
