Gregory C. "Barney" Sholtis, of East Patterson Street Lansford, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at home, in the loving care of his family after a courageous battle against cancer at 65 years of age.
Born Thursday, March 22, 1956 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. he was the son of Peter and Marie (Luchetta) Sholtis of McAdoo. He was predeceased by; father, Peter Sholtis; brother, Robert Sholtis.
Surviving are; his beloved wife of 30 years, Lisa A. (Dougherty) Sholtis; daughters, Tiffany Marie (Sholtis) Nunemacher wife of Shawn of Lansford, Samantha Sholtis of Coaldale; sister, Roxanne Christman wife of Ivan of Palmerton; grandchildren whom he adored who affectionately called him "pappy", Xander, Arianna, Brielle. Many nieces and nephews also survive Gregory.
Catholic by faith, Gregory attended Hazleton Schools. He served honorably in the United States Air Force as a E3. Number 1 in seniority, Gregory spent 29 years as a forklift driver at Aspire Bakeries, once General Mills. Gregory was an avid sports fan, following the N.Y. Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Boston Celtics. An avid fisherman, Gregory also liked to garden while enjoying the outdoors. He was crazy about his grandchildren, and enjoyed playing video games in his down time.

Funeral Services with Military honors to be bestowed will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021 at 11 o'clock from the funeral home. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. till time of services. Presentation of colors by the United States Air Force with support from the Tamaqua Legion in the side courtyard of the funeral home following services.
