Mr. Granville G. " Dutch" Gerhard, age 88, of Grist Mill Drive Packer Twp., Weatherly, died September 18, 2011, at Weatherwood in Weatherly.
A 1940 Weatherly High School graduate, Dutch served in the United States Army during WWII.
Dutch, was a member of St. Matthew's Church of Weatherly, and the Weatherly American Legion Post #360.
He retired from Star Parts of Hazleton as a machinist, and then worked in the office of Menghini Lumber Yard until the age of 83.
Born in Packer Twp., he was the son of the late Russell and the late Clara (Billig) Gerhard.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy R. (Zehner) Gerhard;

Jeanne (Gerhard) Calvi wife of Charles of Cooper City, Fla,
Janet (Gerhard) Gatski of Weatherly;
One Son,
Larry Gerhard and his wife Charlotte of Weatherly;
Two Sisters,
Grace (Gerhard) Corl of Rockford, Ill.,
Olive (Gerhard) Zacharias of Weatherly;
Nine grandchildren
Seven great-grandchildren;
Preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Fern Billman.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries Sup.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the funeral home, and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2011 at St. Matthew's Church on Quakake Road Weatherly, Pa. 18255.
Funeral service will be at St. Matthew's Union Church at 11 o'clock A.M. Friday, September 23, 2011, Rev. Fredericka Beauchard officiating.
Interment with Military Honors, will be at St. Matthew's Cemetery.
