Mr. George J. Wood, age 85, of Brew Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Sunday, February 7, 2010, at St. Lukes Bethlehem in Bethlehem, Pa.
A 1942 Tamaqua High School graduate, George served in the United States Army, as a member of the Army Air Corp, during WWII.
He was a member of the Slatington Moose Lodge #1375, and held the Fellowship Degree within the lodge. Geroge, was a lifetime member of the Tamaqua American Legion #0173.
George, retired as a Dental Technician, from Leventhal of Allentown.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Dr., Walter and Tillie (Candee) Wood.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Agnes V. (Neifert) Wood;
One Daughter,
Susan (Wood) DeAngelo of Hometown;
Grandchildren, Brianna, and Brenna Kunkel, and Brandi, and Bryce DeAngelo
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 11, 2010.
Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Friday, Rev. February 12, 2010, Rev. Al Reese officiating.
Interment with Military Honors, will be at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua, Pa.
