Mr. George P. Wolfe, age 76, of Millhead Road West Penn Twp., Tamaqua, Pa., died Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Geisenger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.
George, was a member of Labors Local 1174, having worked as a Laborer and Truck Driver for Duggan & Marcon for 31 years, retiring in 1995.
A Korean War veteran, serving in the United States Army, George was a member of the Summit Hill American Legion, and Coaldale V.F.W..
He maintained membership in the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club, and Andreas Sporting Club.
George, was a lifetime member of the South Ward Fire Company of Tamaqua, and Mahoning Valley Fire Company.
Born in Newkirk, he was the son of the late George and Ella (Terrance) Wolfe.
He is survived by his wife of Fourty-six years, Doris C. (Coombe) Wolfe;
One Daughter,
Deborah (Wolfe) Frey wife of Harold of Savannah, Ga.;
One Son,
George R. Wolfe and his wife Audrey of Tamaqua, Pa.;
One Sister,
Irene (Wolfe) Aubrey wife of George of Islin, N.J.;
Five grandchildren, Shane, Katie, and Emily Frey; Richard, and Tylor Wolfe;
Nieces and nephews;
Preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Susan (Wolfe) Balazovich
Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, Snyders Village, Rte.#309, New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, September 14, 2009 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
Funeral service will be at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 15, 2009, Rev. Rodney W. Wells officiating.
Interment with Military honors, will be at St. Peter's Church Cemetery, Mantzville, Tamaqua, Pa.
