George M. Welsh, 86 years of age of Norfolk, Va., passed away on Friday November 7, 2014 at DePaul Medical Ctr., Norfolk.
Widower of M. Carolyn (Oliver) Welsh, who died on February 24, 2004, his wife of 49 years.
Born in Coaldale, on September 1, 1928, the son of the late George M. Welsh Sr., and Mary Veronia (O’Brein) Welsh.
George Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Pius X R.C.C. in Norfolk since 1970 where he was an usher and member of the men’s club. George served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Hampton Roads Federal Credit Union, and retired from American Investment Corp., and Bank of the Commonwealth. George has also served as President of the Lenders Exchange of the Roanoke Valley, and as President of the Tidewater Lenders Exchange.
Survived by nieces, nephews, and in-laws;

Brothers, Matthew J. and John E. Welsh;
Niece,
Mary Catherine Welsh Martin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10 o’clock AM., from St. John XXII R.C.C., 264 West Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
Friends shall be received in church from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
Interment with Military Honors St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
