Mr. George V. Munichiello, age 88, of Race Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Orwigsburg Center in Orwigsburg.
A member of St. John U.C.C. of Tamaqua, George retired as a truck driver from Preston Motors.
George served in the United States Navy during WWII.
He belonged to the Tamaqua American Legion Post #0173, Orwigsburg V.F.W., and American Hose Fire Co, where he was a former steward.
Born in Boston Mass., he was the son of the late Raffaele and the late Angela (Cappuccio) Munichiello.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary H. (Nichols) Barron-Munichiello of Tamaqua;

Mrs. Margaret (Barron) Sullivan wife of James of Coaldale, Pa.;

Preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Gamish) Munichiello; daughter, Mrs. Sandy Storey; brothers, Fred, Anthony, and Albert Munichiello; grand daughter, Jennifer (Barron) Mcardle.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2010 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 22, 2010.
Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy officiating.
Interment with Military Honors will be at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery of Tamaqua.
