Mr. George J. Kupetz, age 88, of Old Country Lane, Hecla, New Ringgold, died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in, Pottsville.
A WWII Army Veteran having served in the 702 Tank Battalion, George returned home to work in the mines, and upon there closing worked and retired from the former Atlas Powder Co. of Reynolds.
He was a member of the Orwigsburg gun club, and Post 5069 V.F.W. of Andreas.
Born in Mary-D, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Shapella) Kupetz.
He is survived by his

George C. Kupetz and his wife Jeri of New Ringgold;
Three Brothers,
Bernard Kupetz of Tamaqua,
Joseph Kupetz and his wife Anna of Allentown,
Edward Kupetz of Mary-D;
Two grandchildren, Jacqueline, and Janelle;
Companion, Jean Hahn of Tamaqua
Preceded in death by his wife, Mae (Ketchledge) Kupetz on Nov. 11, 1994; brothers, Michael, Paul, William, and John Kupetz; sisters, Mrs. Catherine Kohlmeir, Mrs. Barbara Rarick, Mrs. Marie Zahora, Mrs. Dorothy Martinez, and Mrs. Margaret Weiner.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, Rte. #309,New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, September 29, 2011.
Funeral service will be at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 29, 2011.
Interment with Military Honors, will be at Sky-View Memorial Park in Tamaqua, Pa.
