George B. Fredericks, age 87, of 201 East Broad Street Tamaqua, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in Tamaqua.
Widower of Thais Elna (Roberts) Fredericks.
George, served in the United States Army during WWII as a Medical Tech, he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Upon his return home he worked in the mines, and as a self-employeed carpenter.
A member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, George, maintained membership in the American Legion Post 0398 Frackville, East End Fire Co., Citizens Fire Co., and American Hose Fire Companies of Tamaqua.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late George and Erma (Geissinger) Fredericks.
He is survived by his;

Elna (Fredericks) Schlorf wife of Robert,
Donna (Fredericks) Startzel wife of Howard,
Holly Beth (Fredericks) Breiner all of Tamaqua;
Sons,
Melvin Fredericks and his wife Karen of Frackville,
Thomas Fredericks and his wife Janice of Tamaqua,
Michael Fredericks and his wife Brenda of Tamaqua;
Sixteen grandchildren
Fourteen great-grandchildren;
Companion of thirty years, Mrs. Margaaret Strohl of Tamaqua;
He is the last survivor of his siblings.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.,
Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 15, 2013 at 11 o'clock A.M. from the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Rev. Darryl Kensinger to officiate.
Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until time of services.
Interment with Military Honors will be conducted at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Tamaqua, Pa.
