Franklin D. "Red" Gerhard, 85 years of age of Hudson Drive, Weatherly, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2016 at home in the loving care of his family.
Survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Thelma M. (Henry) Gerhard; sons, Robert F. Gerhard and his wife Rebecca of Weatherly with whom he resided, John R. Gerhard and his wife Courtney of Hazle Twp., Richard T. Gerhard and his wife Cathy of West Hazleton; daughter, Peggy Gerhard and her husband Bill Schultz of Freeland; brother, George J. "Blackie" Gerhard and his wife Evelyn of Zionsville; 8 grand children.
Red had worked in the newspaper business as a linotype for many years, retiring from Van Heusen of Hazleton. He enjoyed doing puzzle's.
Born Wednesday, November 12, 1930 in Hazleton the son of the late Franklyn H., and Elizabeth (Phillips) Gerhard, he was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas S. "Whitey" Gerhard, and sister, Mrs. Barbara Donohue.
