Mr. Franklin "Cheyenne" J Derr, age 78, of N. Greenwood St.,Tamaqua, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, at The Summit at Blue Mountain Nursing Home in Lehighton.
Frank was an Airforce Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Tamaqua Legion.
He was a supervisor at Morgan Knitting Mills of Tamaqua for 26 1/2 years retiring in 1995 from the Bleachery.
Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Earl Derr and the late Mary (Sassaman) Derr.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Frances M. (Blihar) Rarick-Derr of Tamaqua
one son,
Glenn Rarick and his wife Sarah of Tamaqua
one grandchild, Pastor Gary A. Rarick and his wife Breanna of York, Pa.
Preceded in death by newborn daughter, Michele Derr; brothers, Arthur , Paul and James Derr; sisters, Irene Kropp, Theresa and Mary Derr.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.
Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Sky View Memorial Park 108 Lafayette Ave., Tamaqua, Pa.
