Mr. Francis Anthony Poshefko, age 76, of Rush Township, Pa., died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale, Pa.
A 1951 graduate of Nesquehoning High School, Francis served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua, Pa. and the Lansford AMVETS.
A former resident of Bethlehem, Pa. for 29 1/2 years, Francis was an Accounts Receivable Clerk for Durkee Spices of Bethlehem Pa. from 1962-1987 and worked in the same capacity for Reckitt & Coleman and Reckitt-Benkeiser retiring in 1996.
Born in Nesquehoning, Pa., he was the son of the late John Joseph and Mary (Vetrosky) Poshefko.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Mrs. Mary Jane R. (Artuso) Poshefko;
Brothers, William of Barnegat, New Jersey and Joseph of Natick, Massachusetts;
Sisters, Rose M. (Poshefko) Kosch of Tamaqua, and Helen and Agnes Poshefko both of Barnegat, New Jersey;
Many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by brothers George and John Poshefko who died in action serving their country during WWII; sister, Mrs. Mary Kaul.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua, Pa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend William Linkchorst officiating.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Nesquehoning, Pa.
