Frances A. Lagowicz

Mrs. Frances A. (Shucavage) Lagowicz, mother, gram , and great gram, age 87, of Clarks Summit, Pa., died Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Greenridge Healthcare Center in Scranton, Pa.
She was the widow of Walter A. Lagowicz who passed away 11-29-2002.
Frances was a member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C of Tamaqua.
She had been employed by Western Electric, Allentown, Pa. which later became Lucent Technologies.
Frances loved to cook and bake, always making sure her children and grandchildren were well fed, as well as anyone else in need.
She had a wonderful heart, serving as caregiver for her mother and sister her whole life.
Born in Tamaqua, she was the daughter of the late Charles Shucavage and the late Tillie (Androkaitis) Shucavage.
She is survived by her
Daughter and care providers,
Alberta (Lagowicz) Galardi wife of Joseph of Clarks Summit;
Three grandchildren,
Dr. Donald Preate, Jr. and his wife Karen of Moscow; Attorney Christopher J. Preate and his wife Shelly of Villanova; and Ms. Lauren Preate of Clarks Summit;
Four great-grandchildren,
Ava, Alexa, Sabrina and Jace.
Preceded in death by her brother who died in action during WWII, Albert Shucavage; sister, Mary Shucavage.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Trisha Gallagher, her special angel and friend, Dr. Gautam Thakur, as well as the numerous nurses and doctors of the Regional Hospital of Scranton and Greenridge Healthcare Center.
