Eva M. Flowers, 90 years of age, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2018. She was a long-time resident of Highland Falls, New York, before residing in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, over the past two decades. Most recently, she was a resident of Maple Shade Meadows Senior Living in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, for over four years. Born August 27, 1927 in West Point, New York, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Nebeling) Petersen. She also was predeceased by her husband, Marlin Flowers; brother, Herman Petersen; sister, Madeline Ferguson; and companion, Michael "Mitch" Meck. She is survived by her daughter, Arhlene Flowers, and son-in-law, Steven Lovass-Nagy, of Ithaca, New York; her brothers, Alex Petersen, and his wife, Gloria, of Orangeburg, New York, and George Petersen and his wife, Geraldine, of Liberty, South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Eva loved being in the outdoors while partaking in all of nature's gifts. Birdwatching, bingo, crafts and swimming were a few of her favorite things. She cherished the companionship of cats and dogs during her lifetime. She also stayed in close touch with her family and friends. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E.
