Eugene P. "Gene" Morrison

Regionally known musician Eugene P. "Gene" Morrison, of Wyoming Ave. Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania at the age of 73.　An accomplished guitar player, Gene played with legendary bands, the Velmonts, Randells, TheTony Nicholas Band, and as a solo artist.　He is survived; sons, Gene W. Morrison and his wife Holly of Berwick, Jarrett J. Morrison and his wife Allison of Tamaqua, Christian Morrison and his companion Susanne Anceravige of Tamaqua; brother, Oscar W. Morrison and his companion Gloria Gerhard of Nesquehoning, grand children, Abigail, James Jacob, Olivia, Sadie, Ella, Marissa, Sarah, Deryn; great grandson, Jude; companion, Mary Anne Little of Frackville, and many friends.A graduate of Mahanoy City High School class of 1962, Gene retired from Sear's having managed the hardware department in the Frackville Mall.　A member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, Hometown Fire Company, and was a Past Master of Masonic Lodge #238 of Tamaqua. Gene was active in Tamaqua Area Youth sports coaching his sons in Little League baseball, Knee-Hi Football and CYO basketball. 　Born Friday, September 1, 1944 in Quakake, the son of the late Oscar W., and Irene (Smith) Morrison. Gene was also predeceased by his wife Rita (Cicioni) Morrison in 2011.　Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E.
