Esther Mae Allen-Crone

Mrs. Esther Mae (Stemmler) Allen-Crone, age 90, formerly of Tamaqua, died Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Mahoning Valley Nursing Home in Lehighton.

A 1938 graduate of the former Blythe Twp. schools, she was a member of St. John U.C.C. of Tamaqua.

Esther worked for the former Tami Manufacturing of Tamaqua.

Born in Mary-D, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Maurer) Stemmler.

She is survived by her

Sallie (Allen) DesMoines wife of Edward of Stuttgart Germany,
Mary (Allen) Cooper wife of Louis of Tamaqua,
Helen (Allen) Lawlor wife of Bernard of Andreas;

Four Sisters,
Beatrice (Stemmler) Kotchmar of Mary-D,
Helen (Stemmler) Schroeder of Tamaqua;
Jean (Stemmler) Baddick wife of Dan of Tamaqua,
Mary (Stemmler) Gall wife of John of New Ringgold;

One Brother,
John Stemmler, and his wife Mary of Mary-D;

Six grandchildren, Jacob & Matthew Bobick, Jared & Jessica Cooper, Erin & Justin Lawlor,
Two step grandchildren,
Six great-grandchildren;

Preceded in death by her first husband, Henry H. Allen; second husband, Herbert L. Crone; step-son, Herbert Crone, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy (Stemmler) Nortavage, and Ruth (Stemmler) Kabana.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2010.

Private Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday, December 23, 2010.

Interment will be at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua, Pa.
