Mr. Ephraim D. "Tut" Yates, age 87, of Lehighton, Pa., died Monday, September 29, 2008, at residence of his daughter Mrs. Aleta K. Paul of East Penn Twp., Lehighton, Pa.

Ephraim was a 1937 Lehighton High School graduate. After graduation he served in the United States Airforce as a 2nd Lieutenant, and Test Pilot.

A member of Masonic Lodge 238, Lehigh Consistory #32, Lehighton American Legion, and former member of the S. Ward Fire Company of Tamaqua, Pa.

Empraim worked as a Lab Tech., and Associate Engineer for the former I.C.I. America's of Tamaqua, Pa, retiring in 1977.

He belonged to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lehighton, Pa.

Born in Summit Hill, Pa. he was the son of the late Ephraim and the Lulu (Rex) Yates.

Preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Anna M. (Stickler) Yates on May 7, 2006;

He is survivied by;

Two Daughters,
Mrs. Aleta K. (Yates) Paul of Lehighton, Pa.
Mrs. Darlene (Yates) Risteter of Palmerton, Pa.

One Son,
Ephriam D. "Tad" Yates, II of New Ringgold, Pa.

Two Sisters,
Lulu Mertz of Lehighton, Pa.
Mrs. Charolotte (Yates) Grosso, wife of Mario of Lehighton, Pa.

Nine grandchildren
One great-grandchild

Preceded in death by brothers, Oliver and Lindberg E. Yates.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2008 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, October 2, 2008.

Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 2, 2008 , Rev. Robert A. vonFrisch officiating.

Interment will be at Sky-View Memorial Park in Tamaqua, Pa.

Memorials in his honor to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 175 South Third Street Lehighton, Pa. 18235.
