Mrs. Elnora (Kellner) Tyson, age 94, formerly of White Haven and Baltimore, MD died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Weatherwood Nursing Home, Weatherly, Pa.
Elnora had been an occupational therapist having worked at Keswick Nursing Home in Baltimore, MD.
She was Catholic by faith, a Hazleton High School graduate and a volunteer at Eckley Miners' Village.
A published author, Elnora wrote "Nora" a book depicting true life accounts of her mother's life in a small coal mining town.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late George Kellner and the late Nora (McHugh) Kellner.
She is survived by her
one son,
Alfred "Buddy" H Tyson and his wife Elizabeth of Northampton
one brother,
George Kellner of Lansdale
four grandchildren, Michael, Ann, Sabrina and Colleen.
Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred M. Tyson on 4/24/1962; daughter, Catherine Todd-Hanratty; brothers, Robert and Eugene; sisters, Cathline Sweeney and Margaret Kellner.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./Supervisor where the family will receive friends on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 9:30-11:00 AM.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, Reverend Floyd Caesar officiating.
Interment at Union Cemetery of Weatherly.
