Elmer "Eno" Scheese

November 15, 1922 — October 29, 2007

Elmer W. "ENO" Scheese, 84 of 852 East Patterson Street, Lansford PA died Monday October 29, 2007 at the Hometown Nursing Home. Born in Lansford, PA he was the son of the late Albert & Anna (Kleppinger) Scheese.

Mr. Scheese worked for Lehigh Navigation Coal Company until retirement and he served in the United States Army during WWII and won the purple heart twice. He was a 1942 graduate of the former Summit Hill High School, a life member of the First Baptist church in Lansford, a member of the Summit Hill American Legion, the Lansford Amvets, Tamaqua Elks, Nesquehoning VFW, Nesquehoning Lions Club. He was very active in the little league and loved the New York Yankees and Penn State.

He is survived by his two sisters Arlene Scheese with whom he resided and Doris wife of the late Fenton Black who died in 1993. Many Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph, Leonard, Raymond & Walter and sisters Elizabeth Coniglio and Marie Maradeo.

Calling Hours: Thursday evening (11-1-2007) from 6-8pm at the Holmes-Griffiths Funeral Home Inc, 200 E. Bertsch Street, Lansford and again on Friday from 10-11 am.

Summit Hill American Legion service to be held on Thursday evening at 7:15pm.

Funeral Service: Friday (11-2-2007) at 11 am with Rev. Jeremy Benack officiating.

Interment: GAR Cemetery in Summit Hill with full military honors.
