Ellen P. (McGlinchey) Evans , 81 years of age , of Centre Street Mahanoy City, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at home.

Widow of Edward "Ted" Evans.

Born in Tamaqua on March 19, 1933, the daughter of the late Francis and Elverna (Eddinger) McGlinchey.

A St. Jerome High School graduate, Ellen worked for the former Atlas Powder Co. of Reynolds. Ellen was a licensed L.P.N.

A member of St. John XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua, she enjoyed reading, traveling, Broadway Shows, and visits to the Casino. Ellen was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Mahanoy City.

Survived by;

Sisters:

Mary Jane McGlinchey, and

Jeanne Rutch wife of Frank both of Tamaqua;

Brothers:

Joseph McGlinchey of Hatfield,

Francis McGlinchey of Tamaqua;

Many nieces and nephews also survive her.

Preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Doris Stidham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 11, 2014 at 11 o'clock A.M. from St. John XXIII R.C.C. 264 West Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

A Gathering of Friends shall occur at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation services, Inc. from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M on Tuesday November 11, 2014.

Private Interment will be at St. Canicus R.C.C. Cemetery of Mahanoy City.
