Mrs. Ella Carrie (Houser) Postupack, age 71, formerly of West Penn Twp., residing on East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Thursday, August 21, 2008, at St. Luke's VNA Hospice in Bethlehem, Pa.
Ella, was a 1954 Tamaqua High School graduate, and a graduate of the McCann's School of Business of Mahanoy City, Pa. She subsequently began a storied work career as Executive Secretary for Harrisburg Daily Market and the former Tamaqua Freezer & Warehouse, from 1955 - 1963. Ella and her husband, Ted founded and operated the Anchor Deep Seafood Restaurant from 1963 - 1970. Ella was also an Assistant Chef at the White Diner from 1970 - 1972. Ella left the work force until after the death of her husband. When she resumed her career, she served in various positions for the Schuylkill County Office of Senior Services. Until recently, she was a Computer Instructor for the Seniors Training Seniors Program under the federal Senior Community Service Employment Program.
Ella's greatest joy was in raising her children and working with her husband on their fruit farm in West Penn Twp., where she prided herself in harvesting the most delicious peaches, cherries and apples in the area. She loved gardening, home canning, and creating delicious foods and baked goods for her family, friends and co-workers.
Ella was a lifelong active member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church. She played the piano and loved to sing.
Born in Allentown, Ella was the daughter of the late Walter and Verta Mae(Nelson) Houser.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore "Ted" Postupack in 1989, a brother, Lester W. Houser in 2003, and a great-grandson Jeffrey Ryan in 2006.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 26, 2008, and from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2008, from the Reynolds United Methodist Church, Reynolds Road Tamaqua, Pa.
Funeral service will be at Reynolds United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2008, Rev. Mark Rains officiating.
Interment will be at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Ukranian Catholic Cemetery Weatherly, Pa.
