Elizabeth "Betty" K. Tomasko

Elizabeth (Betty Kathryn) Tomasko passed away on Jan 19, 2021. Born in Binghamton Ny on Dec 11, 1929, she was the daughter off the late Rev. Irving J. Shafer and Mary K. Miller Shafer.
Betty attended schools in Elmira NY and graduated from Weatherly HS in 1948. She worked in Tung-Sol in Weatherly and later was a nurse-aide at General Hospital in Stroudsburg PA in pediatrics for 6 yrs. Her most rewarding job was as a para-professional aide in Pleasant Valley HS, Brodheadsville PA with students with special needs for 13 years.
She was of a Presbyterian faith having been a. Elder and Trustee of Hazleton 1st Presbyterian Church.
She was a past member of the Glen Chapter Eastern Star #425, Lykens PA. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Friendship Club and Flower Club of Weatherly.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, in 2015. Betty had two sons John R. Tomasko and his companion Joanne Kennedy, York PA. Ronald J and wife Arla Tomasko, Mountain Top PA. Grandchildren Tara Tomasko, Philadelphia, Matthew Tomasko of York. Trisha Tomasko, Duryea and Hayden and wife Brianna Yerashunas, Baltimore MD. Great-grandson Paxton Tomasko, Albany NY.
