Elizabeth Snyder

Elizabeth Snyder, mother, sister, beloved Nan, 80 years of age of Lansford, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Luke's Carbon Campus in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. 

Born Sunday, May 7, 1944 in Leith, Scotland the daughter of the late Andrew, and Mary (Renton) Reekie. Elizabeth was also predeceased by; husband, Barry E. Snyder; daughter, Darcie Louise Trotman; and her beloved sister-in-law, Marie McDiarmid. 

Surviving are; son, Gavin Snyder and his wife Bobbie; brothers, James(Jimmy) McDiarmid, Andrew Reekie and his wife Cathy; grandchildren, Tylor Trotman and his wife Zoe, Elizabeth M. Trotman with whom she resided, Ian, and Kayla Snyder; great grandchildren, Aubrey, and Victoria Trotman; niece, Yvonne McDiarmid; nephew; James McDiarmid and his wife Val; grandnephews, Dane McDiarmid, Cameron McDiarmid, and Matthew McDiarmid. 

Raised in Scotland, Elizabeth graduated from Ainslie Park High School in her native land. Elizabeth had worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Edgemont Nursing Home of Lansford. Elizabeth enjoyed sitting on her front porch with her granddaughter, and their late dog Luna, talking to neighbors. She enjoyed talking on the phone with her brother, James and niece, Yvonne from Scotland. She had a sarcastic humor that made everyone laugh, she had the biggest heart and made an impact on everyone she met. She loved her birthplace intensely and it’s her dearest wish to return home to Scotland.

A Celebration of Elizabeth's Life will be held on Friday evening January 17th, 2025 at the funeral home from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Friends may call or visit during that time.
