Elizabeth "Betty" (Willing) Pearson, 95 years, 11 months, 30 days a lifelong resident of Lansford Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, as a guest of Mahoning Valley Nursing Home in Lehighton.
Born Thursday, June 9, 1927 in Lansford, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Edgar and Laura (Wenk) Willing. Betty was also predeceased by her beloved husband John R. Pearson on June 8, 2005; brother, Richard E. Willing; sister, Gretchen L. Ehle; nieces Beth Joy (Willing) Dailey, Sharon (Ehle) Norton, Claudia (Ehle) Sokol, and Barbara (Ehle) Kesterson; nephew Robert Ehle, and great-nephew Chris Hardesty.
Surviving are nephew Richard Willing and his children Max Willing and Krystle-Dawn Willing-Tiedeman; great-nephews David Kerr Jr. and Donivan Dailey, great-niece Miranda Dailey; great-nieces Sandy (Norton) Epler, Bobbie Jean Norton, and Aimee Norton; nieces Elizabeth “Dolly” (Ehle) Miller and her son Joseph Daniels, Gretchen (Ehle) Kunkle and her children Robert Kunkle Jr. and Elizabeth Kunkle; great-nephews John Ehle, Robert Ehle, and Scott Ehle, and great niece Kaitlin Ehle; great nieces Jennifer Sokol-Kusse and Patricia (Sokol) Werner, great-nephew David Sokol Jr.; great-nephews Mark Kesterson and Scott Kesterson, great-niece Lisa Marie (Kesterson) Mackenzie; niece Laura (Ehle) Mattera and her children Jess Hardesty, Billy Ray Hardesty, and Kristi (Hardesty) Wilson. Betty was the eldest of five living generations in the extended family.
A proud 1945 graduate of the former Lansford High School, Betty worked for the former Schonberger’s Hardware Store for 36 years and retired from the former Knittle’s Hardware store in 1991. An active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Lansford, Betty ran the Shepherd House Food Pantry for many years. She was a tough old Bird and will be greatly missed by many, including the caring staff of Mahoning.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 16th from 10 am to noon at Trinity Lutheran Church 104 East Abbott Street Lansford, Pennsylvania 18232 followed by private Graveside Services and internment at Grand Army Cemetery in Summit Hill, Pennsylvania.
